Monday, March 01, 2010 - Alexis Sorbas - Lila Kedrova is Madame Hortence, a faded glory, who "does not have the bugs" and can still put on, a scaled down, show. Lila won the Oscar award for best actress for Zorba. In 1983, she did it all over again on Broadway in NYC, in the musical version of Zorba the Greek, winning both a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award. Alan Bates is laughing with Madame and Anthony Quinn is consoling her: "no more boom, boom".
